Moniteau County is lifting its restrictions and going back to work Monday. The county will follow state guidelines.
Emergency Management Director Kevin Wieberg says both Burgers Smokehouse and the Cargill turkey plant have taken the outbreak seriously.
“They’ve adopted some pretty heavy precautions,” Wieberg says. “Basic, simple things like plexiglass in between work stations, adding another lunch break, staggering them a little bit more.”
Many of Moniteau County’s cases involved workers and their families at Burgers. As of Monday, only two of the counties 45 cases were still active.
Wieberg says officials have been working with translators to make sure everyone in the Hispanic community is up to speed.
