Moniteau County extends stay-at-home order; two new virus cases in Boone

There’s progress, but Moniteau County officials want to see more.

The county announced Thursday it will extend a local stay-at-home order through May 10th. The state’s order ends this Sunday.

Moniteau County is currently at 42 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 27 recovered. Hard-hit Burgers Smokehouse re-opened on Thursday.

Boone County confirmed two new cases Friday, for a total of 96. Cole County remains at 51 positives. No extra positives in Callaway County either on Thursday. Those counties only have a few active cases apiece right now.

Saline County added four new positives on Thursday. That makes 192 total.

Statewide, Missouri reported its largest increase in confirmed cases in more than a week. State officials confirmed 7,835 positives, an increase of 273 from Thursday’s count. Eight more Missourians have died from COVID-19, for a total of 337.
