As of Tuesday, afternoon, the state health department says 4,546 Missourians have been approved to get medical marijuana. The first sales are probably coming early next year.
Missouri medical marijuana program director Lyndall Fraker tells Missourinet it is up to your doctor if you will get the green light to smoke some green.
“The drafters were very clear with that throughout the whole amendment, and we’ve tried to honor that.”
Fraker says if your doctor won’t recommend medical marijuana for treatment, there are other doctors who might.
About 95% of people who have applied to the state have been approved so far.
