It was the only contested race for a circuit judge seat in the state of Missouri this November. Boone County associate circuit judge Stephanie Morrell won it on Tuesday. In January she’ll become one of the five circuit court judges in the 13 Judicial Circuit that covers Boone and Callaway counties. Morrell’s a Democrat. She beat Republican attorney Jesus Osete with 52% of the vote between the two counties. The term is for six years. Morrell will replace Judge Kevin Crane who is retiring after 18 years on the bench.

In unofficial results, Morrell tallied 26,870 votes to Osete’s 15,393 in Boone County. In Callaway County, Osete had 13,664 votes to Morrell’s 6,671. Totalled up, that was 33,541 for Morrell and 29,057 for Osete.
