MSHP on lookout for drunk drivers during long weekend

Highway Patrol troopers want you to stay safe on the roads during this long weekend.

Troopers said Thursday they will increase their presence at popular getaway spots looking for drunk drivers throughout the weekend. That includes the Lake of the Ozarks.

State Troopers will be conducting DWI Saturation’s at Lake of the Ozarks May 27th-May 30th. Officers will be working 12 hour shifts to remove impaired drivers from the roads. The patrol says 332 people have died in Missouri traffic crashes so far this year, a six percent increase over this time last year.
