MU announces more furloughs, salary reductions

The University of Missouri announced Friday more furloughs and salary reductions for hundreds of additional employees as the school braces for more budgetary hardships due to coronavirus concerns.

A release from the school says a total of 899 employees are on furlough, an increase of 320 from the past week. A total of 995 employees are taking salary reduction, which is more than 200 higher than last week.

The data also shows the university will not renew the contracts for 33 other employees.

MU Health Care announced Friday it has eliminated another 29 positions across its hospitals and clinics.
