MU announces more layoffs, furloughs, pay cuts

The University of Missouri announced another round of layoffs, pay cuts and furloughs Friday.

Officials say 34 more workers at MU and MU Health Care have been laid off, making it 117 total layoffs since the pandemic hit.

More than 500 more workers will be furloughed or take a reduced paycheck. Since May 1, the school has announced furloughs for 2,129 employees and salary reductions for another 1,691 employees.

Additionally, Mizzou Athletics said Friday it is cutting $16.5 million from this year’s budget.
