MU Health will move pediatric services from Keene location to main Columbia campus in November

MU Health Care says its $232 million new Children’s Hospital and tower project will open in the summer of 2024 at Hitt and Lake streets in Columbia.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday, and MU Health Care CEO Jonathan Curtright says the new hospital will reimagine the way they deliver pediatric care.

Mr. Curtright says it’s part of a larger effort to create one centralized hospital campus where resources, technology and specialists are co-located for patients of all agesThe new hospital will include special outdoor areas for children to play, along with flower gardens and additional places to relax.

While the new hospital won’t open until the summer of 2024, MU Health Care will move pediatric services to the main campus in November. That includes emergency services and inpatient services.

The current Children’s Hospital is located on Keene street in east Columbia, near I-70.
