MU Health Care says the opening of its family medicine clinic in mid-Missouri’s Mexico highlights its commitment to expand access to health care in rural communities like Mexico, Boonville and Fayette.
The clinic opened on Monday, and the Mizzou Urgent Care will open later this summer. MU Health says the clinic will offer care for the entire family.
Noble Health closed its hospital doors in Mexico in late March, which has worried seniors in that community. Mexico’s population is about 11,500, and there’s a large elderly population in Audrain and surrounding counties.
The new clinic on south Clark in Mexico as a doctor and nurse practitioner. It features Dr. Diane Jacobi and nurse practitioner Regina Hill. Dr. Jacobi says she’s excited to have moved her practice back to Audrain County.
