A murder suspect from the state of California remains jailed without bond this morning in Boone County, on a warrant from the Golden State.
35-year-old Tyler Scott Graeber is also charged in Boone County with being a fugitive from out of state. That’s a felony. Our news partner KMIZ reports Graeber has been working since March 2023 at Columbia’s University Hospital. MU Health Care tells our news partner KMIZ that Graeber was employed by a staffing agency that vets its employees prior to assignment, and was working in a non-patient role. MU Health says his last day was Monday, which is the day he was arrested.
Graeber is charged with killing Stacey Edmond in February 2021 in the state of California. It’s unclear if he’ll waive or fight extradition. If he decides to fight extradition, he could delay things in court for about a month or two. That would also mean that Missouri Governor Mike Parson and California Governor Gavin Newsom would have to get involved in the case and sign paperwork to have Graeber extradited.
