Murder suspect in Columbia infant’s death to appear in court

The man charged with killing his infant daughter in Columbia five years ago has been ordered to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.

Staffone Fountain of St. Joseph is charged with first degree murder and abandonment of a corpse, and is in jail without bond. He’ll appear in court tomorrow at 1:30 pm.

Fountain allegedly killed his daughter, Samone Daniels, in 2017. Her remains were found two years later behind McKnight Tire on North Providence.

The girl’s mother, Lavosha Daniels, is also charged in the case. Both her and Fountain were arrested after a letter from Daniels was found at a Super 8 motel in June.
