Two sisters who grew up in Nebraska have opened a new bar in downtown Columbia that they hope will be the prime bar for young adults.
Zimmer’s “Inside Columbia” magazine reports Greta and Ava Gunderson have opened Son of a Gun on North Ninth street.
Ava Gunderson tells “Inside Columbia” that she visited the area during Summerfest and saw the large crowds that had gathered to hear live music. She likes the Ninth street location. The owners are hopeful that Son of a Gun will be the go-to spot in downtown Columbia for post-college young adults. They describe it as a perfect place to go after work or if you’re going out on a date and want to have a few cocktails.
Greta Gunderson is a former bartender at Roxy’s and the Penguin. The sisters say they’ve poured their passion and creativity into every aspect of the bar.
