Columbia’s city council has voted to authorize construction of a fire station near Scott Boulevard and state Route K, in the Deerfield Ridge subdivision. The council approved the measure at Monday night’s meeting.
The $2.5 million fire station is being funded by the voter-approved capital improvement sales tax extension.
The council also heard testimony Monday from resident Lillian Davis, who is urging motorists to slow down on Worley. Ms. Davis testifies that speeding along Worley is putting children and others at risk.
