Columbia’s popular Chris McD’s restaurant has new ownership. Our Zimmer publication “Inside Columbia” magazine reports Chris McD’s founder Chris McDonnell has sold to Tyler Spurgeon. Tyler’s partners are Tina and Dr. Mike Maurizi, his soon-to-be parents in law.

McDonnell tells “Inside Columbia” that his employees like and respect Spurgeon, and that they’re excited about the changes that will be coming.

Mr. Spurgeon says he won’t make drastic changes to the menu. He tells Zimmer’s “Inside Columbia” magazine that “putting out really good steaks and awesome seafood dishes” is the main goal there. While Spurgeon is also considering adding some French or Italian dishes, he says it will still be Chris McD’s.

Spurgeon tells the magazine that the entire interior will be completely renovated with new tabletops and a new bar, and the patio will be expanded.
