MoDOT says the new Sorrels overpass is under construction now.
ABC 17 reports the agency began work on the I-70 overpass just west of Columbia on Monday. Crews had to demolish the old overpass after a truck crashed into it in October. The driver, a 51-year old Boonville man, suffered serious injuries.
Construction of the overpass should wrap up in late May. The project is estimated to cost about $1 million.
