New state rep Walsh learning on the fly

New state representative Sara Walsh has a challenging assignment. Learn all about the state budget…in a hurry. The Republican from Ashland has been assigned to the House Budget Committee. She says she looks at the state spending plan just like a homeowner looks at theirs.

“You have to sit down at the kitchen table and decide what you’re cutting and what you’re doing,” Walsh said. “Where you prioritize the money.”

Walsh says she will listen carefully to each of the state’s departments requests when they come before the committee.
