A controversial residential development on Gans Road is south Columbia was approved by the city council on Monday. The plan allows for 40 single-family “cottage-style” homes on 6.2 acres at the corner of Gans Road and Bristol Lake Parkway. That’s directly across from the city’s Gans Creek Recreational Area and just west of Father Tolton High School. The city decided to allow smaller lots and reduced setbacks than previously permitted over the objections of nearby residents.
