Trash collection in both Columbia and Jefferson City is delayed by one day this week, due to Monday’s New Year’s Day holiday.

That means if your trash is normally picked up on Monday, it’s today (Tuesday) this week and so on. Columbia solid waste officials also remind you that that your natural Christmas trees can be placed curbside on your normally scheduled pickup day, through January 31. Your tree will not count as a bulky item, during this period.

Because of the holiday, there will be no Columbia city council meeting this week.  Jefferson City’s Council meets this evening at 6 at the Christy building.
