Newly-elected Columbia council member Hartman to receive oath of office Monday

Columbia fifth ward council member-elect Christina Hartman will be sworn-in Monday evening at city hall.

She defeated incumbent Donald Waterman 1,332 to 981 in the April election. She campaigned on what she calls her pillars of policy: housing availability, job opportunities and reliable infrastructure.

There technically will be two council meetings Monday, a short one that includes outgoing councilman Donald Waterman and the regular one with Council member-elect Hartman.
