Columbia’s newly-elected school board members were sworn-in at Monday night’s meeting, and the board also recognized outgoing vice president Dr. Della Streaty-Wilhoit.

The board voted to accept the results of last week’s election, and the oath of office was given to Suzette Waters and Blake Willoughby. They were the top two vote-getters last week. Willoughby is an incumbent. Dr. Streaty-Wilhoit did not seek re-election.

The new board also approved a resolution on Monday evening that authorizes financing for the Boone County nature school construction project.

CPS has committed $2-million for the school’s construction, while $1-million has been committed by the Missouri Department of Conservation for design and land development. The nature center will be accessible to all fifth graders in Boone County.
