The late-season slump continues for the Tigers.
No. 24 Mizzou hoops lost to Ole Miss 60-53 on Tuesday night in Columbia. The Tigers came back from a 13-point second-half hole to briefly take the lead at 43-41. It was tied at 50 with two minutes left before the Rebels took back control.
“We weren’t aggressive. We didn’t set a physical tone. And of course we fought back in the second half, but didn’t do enough to get over the hump,” said coach Cuonzo Martin, whose team has now lost four of its last five games.
Kobe Brown led a cold Mizzou offense, with 12 points. Jeremiah Tilmon had 10 points and 10 rebounds. MU shot just 35% from the field.
The Tigers (14-7, 7-7) drop to seventh in the SEC standings. Ole Miss (13-9, 8-7) is a half-game ahead of them. The unranked Rebels won both games against Mizzou this season.
