No charges filed in Fulton shooting

The man accused of killing Thomas Payne at the end of November in Fulton will not be charged in the shooting.

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney, Christopher Wilson, announced his decision Thursday afternoon.

Police found Payne with a gunshot wound in a home on Jefferson Street in the early morning hours of November 30th.

Detectives say the person who lived in the home shot Payne when he came in, uninvited.

Wilson said the man acted lawfully and was only acting in self defense.
