No danger after “serious incident” investigation in Jefferson City

Jefferson City fire officials say everyone is safe after a scare at a local plant.

Crews rushed to the Unilever facility on West Truman at about 9 a.m. Thursday for what they would only call a “serious incident.” It was reported as a possible chemical fire, but it was just a soap ingredient releasing vapor from a tank.

Again, no one was in danger.
