A busy holiday for the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The agency’s new year’s counting period saw 43 crashes in mid-Missouri from when the increased enforcement started on Friday at 6p.m., and ended Tuesday night at 11:59p.m.
MSHP Troop F totals for the 2019 New Years counting period (6pm Dec. 28, 2018, to 11:59 pm Jan. 1, 2019):

Troop F counted 19 injuries, but no fatal crashes.
Troopers also arrested 14 drivers for being intoxicated, and 11 for drugs.
Statewide, eight people died in traffic crashes over the holiday. That’s one more than last year’s total.
