No injuries in early-morning tractor trailer fire on Columbia’s I-70

A semi involved in that early-morning Columbia fire that closed both sides of heavily-traveled I-70 near the 63 connector has been removed from the shoulder.

Columbia assistant fire chief Clayton Farr Jr. tells 939 the Eagle that there were no injuries in the incident.

Farr says the fire began in the semi’s cab, and smoke was seen billowing into the air from a few miles away. The fire happened at about 5:40 am on eastbound I-70, near the Edward Jones office on I-70 Drive.
