UPDATE: Boone and Cole Counties have one new case of COVID-19.
Boone County reported on Saturday there were 88 cases of the virus, with 79 people recovered.
Cole County also saw a new case, bringing the total up to 43 with 33 people recovered.
ORIGINAL: No new positive cases in Boone County.
As of Friday evening, Columbia and Boone County Public Health and Human Services said there were 87 reported cases with only seven active.
However, the number of new confirmed coronavirus cases in Missouri jumped by more than 400 on Friday, the biggest one-day increase since the first case was reported last month.
Sixteen more people have died.
Data from Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering shows the total cases in Missouri is 5,560.
Right now the CDC suggests a deep cleaning of homes and businesses.
