The National Weather Service (NWS) says accumulating snowfall is becoming more likely in mid-Missouri later this week, starting Wednesday night through Thursday night.

NWS St. Louis meteorologist Matt Beitscher tells 939 the Eagle that while the system will begin with some sleet, it’s looking like this will be an all snow event in Columbia and Jefferson City.

The NWS is still putting specific snow projections together. Mr. Beitscher is most concerned now about the Thursday morning and evening commutes. The NWS says mid-Missourians should be prepared for the disruption of travel during that timeframe.
