The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pleasant Hill now says two tornadoes touched down late Sunday afternoon near Sedalia, and were on the ground for about a mile.
NWS survey teams traveled to Pettis County on Monday to view damage, and say both tornadoes hit at about 5 p.m. Sunday. There were no injuries in either tornado.
One of the tornadoes crossed Highway 50, just south of Sedalia Memorial Airport. The tornadoes had winds of 80 miles-per-hour.
The NWS Pleasant Hill office issued tornado warnings Sunday for both Pettis and Cooper counties.
