NWS predicts 3-4″ of Columbia snow in next storm

It’s still not clear just how much snow we’re going to get from the next winter storm coming to mid-Missouri.

Ben Herzog with the National Weather Service says to expect it to hit us with something from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.

“We’re really confident that we’re going to see this storm push through our part of the country. Unfortunately, what we’re less confident about is what exactly the temperature is going to be as that comes through,” Herzog says. “Is the precipitation going to start as rain, or is it going to start as snow?”

Herzog says, right now, the forecast calls for three to four inches of snow in the Columbia area. North of I-70 could see about six inches. It may be closer to two inches near Jefferson City and south.
