One person dies in a Jefferson City house fire.
Authorities say the fire started at about 6 p.m. Sunday on Laurel Drive south of the Highway 54 and Missouri Boulevard intersection.
Crews pulled 60-year-old Carla Palmero away from the heavy fire, but she died at a hospital.
Investigators say it looks like the fire was an accident. It may have started in the house’s fireplace.
