One person has died in a central Columbia fire.
Authorities found heavy smoke when they got to the home on Lakeview Avenue near Rangeline and the Business Loop at about 11 p.m. Thursday. They pulled one person out of the house, but could not save the victim. We don’t know that person’s name yet.
Investigators say the fire apparently started with a candle in the living room. The fire caused about $16,000 in damage.
