Missouri celebrated its 200th birthday and held an inauguration for the governor and other state leaders in front of the Missouri Capitol on Monday.
Mike Parson delivered his first inaugural speech as governor. He said the state has better days ahead following a tough 2020.
“We have been faced with sacrifices, uncertainty and tragedy. But with each moment of darkness, there seems to return tenfold of hope,” said Parson.
This will be Parson’s first full term as governor, after he took over the job in 2018 following Eric Greitens’ resignation.
