Missouri will start drawing lucky winners Friday as part of its vaccine incentive program. People in the state that have gotten the shot are eligible to win $10,000.
Gov. Mike Parson says more than 200,000 Missourians have received the vaccine since announcing the program.
“This is nearly a 50 percent increase over the daily and weekly vaccination rates we were seeing before the announcement,” said Parson.
Parson also announced Wednesday the state will spend another $30 million to relieve strain on the healthcare system. The money will go toward more hospital staffing and COVID-19 antibody infusion sites.
