Missouri state troopers say a pilot from mid-Missouri’s Huntsville suffered serious injuries in Tuesday afternoon’s plane crash near Centralia.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the air tractor plane crashed at about 1:15 pm Tuesday near Route CC, about 300 feet west of North Angell school road. The Patrol’s crash report says the plane struck electric cables and crashed into a field. The 31-year-old pilot, who is not identified in the crash report, has been life flighted to University Hospital in Columbia.
Ameren Missouri utility crews have worked throughout the night to try to restore power to hundreds of residents who lost power during the crash. Ameren Missouri tells our news partner ABC-17 that several power lines came down during the crash. Boone County Fire Protection District assistant chief Gale Blomenkamp tells ABC-17 that the pilot was alert and conscious when he was pulled from the aircraft.
Ameren Missouri’s outage map showed that about 815 residents in the Hallsville area lost power at one point Tuesday. Power has now been restored by everyone.
