Pedestrian hit and killed by car in east Columbia

A 17-year-old pedestrian is dead after she was hit by a car in east Columbia.

Police say Claudine Nibigira was hit on Clark Lane near Hanover Boulevard east of the I-70 connector at about 10 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say they don’t think alcohol or drugs were a factor in the case. The driver of the car, 44-year-old Tamara Lewis from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was not hurt, and is talking with the cops.
