Pedestrian seriously hurt in Jefferson City accident

A pedestrian is taken to a Columbia hospital with serious injuries after he’s hit by a car in Jefferson City.

Police say 19-year-old Deion Brown was trying to cross East McCarty Street at Chestnut at about 6 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by Donna Branch’s SUV. The 65-year-old Branch has minor injuries.

JCPD is still investigating the crash.
