Person of interest in Cole County murder case arrested

Cole County authorities said over the weekend they’ve picked up a man who may be connected to some human remains found last month.

Sandy Gallaspie has been arrested. Investigators have called him a person of interest after finding human remains near Bess Hill Road in Jefferson City on June 27.

No official word on who the dead person is yet, but it’s apparently tied to a 2015 Cole County murder.

Suzanne Ponder has already been charged with abandonment of a corpse in the case.
