Police chase ends with crash near Columbia elementary school

Police are looking for the driver after a chase and a crash in Columbia.

Officers say a car sped away from an attempted traffic stop near I-70 and West Boulevard at about 7 p.m. Wednesday. The car crashed into a tree in front of Grant Elementary School on Broadway near Providence and downtown.

The driver ran off. A passenger had to go to the hospital.
