The sixth-largest employer in Columbia/Boone County continues to improve its financial performance.
939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy, who publishes Comobuz, reports Boone Hospital trustees heard a detailed report this week from chief financial officer Ed Clayton. Comobuz reports hospital earnings are about $10-million more after six months of 2024 than they were during the same period last year.
Murphy quotes Mr. Clayton as telling hospital trustees that it doesn’t mean they’re where they need to be, but it does show significant improvement. The first quarter of this year was the first profitable quarter for the hospital since its separation from BJC Healthcare in 2021.
Boone Health currently has 1,581 employees, according to the latest numbers from Columbia Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI).
