Protesters call for end to Boone County restrictions

Protesters gathered in front of Columbia City Hall on Thursday afternoon, saying Boone County’s restrictions on re-opening should go away.

The demonstrations were led by 93.9 The Eagle’s Gary Nolan.

“Open this city up. Let us do our jobs. Let us be responsible for our own behavior,” Nolan said during the protest on Thursday.

A letter from Eng and Woods law firm on behalf of city and county leaders was sent to the city and county last week. It says the statewide regulations should be followed, and not the stricter county regulations.

Leaders aren’t even wearing masks in public! You’re not doing anything to help the self employed entertainers! And we are tax paying citizens. For those of us that aren’t considered essential and don’t make it to your list of people worthy of helping, are going bankrupt. The stimulus was not enough for those of us that haven’t worked since early March. Who is looking out for us?

  2. And notice.. hence the mask wearing.. Everyone wants to state they want to be able to go to work do the job without fear of the virus but yet you’re wearing masks hypocritical group, That are going to just infect the rest of the world or spread the plague worst .. sad man
