Providence road work begins this week

The resurfacing of Providence Road in Columbia will begin on Thursday, according to Missouri Department of Transportation officials. One lane will be closed in spots during the evening hours. The $5.5 million dollar project will begin near Route K and progress north toward Interstate 70. Also included is some guardrail repair and the addition of a right turn lane on northbound Providence at Veterans United Drive.
