QB’s go early in NFL Draft; no Mizzou players picked in first round

No Mizzou players heard their names called during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night in Cleveland. The second and third rounds are Friday night.

The Chiefs are set to make their first pick of the draft at No. 58 overall. They traded their first rounder to the Ravens in a deal for offensive tackle Orlando Brown.

The SEC had six of the first ten picks in the draft, and 12 first-rounders total, just missing the all-time record.

More from The Associated Press:

Quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence of Clemson and Zac Wilson of BYU were the first two players off the board, as expected, in the NFL draft. The San Francisco 49ers made it three straight QBs with North Dakota State’s Trey Lance before Florida’s Kyle Pitts became the highest selected tight end at No. 4 to Atlanta. Seven offensive players went off the board before a defensive player went and four quarterbacks were taken in the first 11 picks.
