Rep. Reisch calls for calm amid coronavirus concerns

The Missouri House is staying in session for now. Hallsville Republican Rep. Cheri Toalson Reisch says on Wake Up Columbia keep calm, wash your hands, and stay home if you’re sick.

“Cool heads need to prevail, and common sense,” Reisch said Thursday morning. “If someone wants to come see me, the House is open so far, until we’re told otherwise.”

The Missouri Senate is not in session next week. Reisch says that is probably because a group of Mizzou journalism students exposed to the new coronavirus in New Orleans spent time in the Senate chambers this week.

Reisch says she has heard from constituents that are concerned about a possible shortage in coronavirus testing kits.

“We should be getting free test kits. I don’t know what the status of that is. But I can assure everyone the state of Missouri has a handle on this and all protocols are being followed.”
