NCAA to hear Mizzou appeal this week

A source confirms to 93.9 The Eagle that University of Missouri athletics will appeal its NCAA punishments to a committee during a hearing this week. CBS Sports first reported the story.

The Tigers got hit in January with postseason bans for football, baseball, and softball, plus other punishments like scholarship and recruiting restrictions. That came after Mizzou self-reported to the NCAA that a tutor had done the course work for about a dozen athletes.

The infraction appeals committee will take at least four weeks to decide whether the punishments should stand. The deliberation could stretch into football season, which starts Aug. 31 at Wyoming for Mizzou.
