Robbery, terrorist threat suspect due in court Monday

The first hearing was scheduled for Monday afternoon for the man accused of a robbery and terrorist threat at a Columbia grocery store.

Jeffrey York, 59, is in Boone County Jail right now with no bond.

Police say York stole from the Commerce Bank inside the Hy-Vee on West Broadway Friday, and left a note with a teller saying he had a bomb. Authorities cleared the store, and put several nearby schools on lockdown.

They found a suspicious package in York’s car. It was safely blown up.

York was quickly arrested.
