Route H project close to final approval

The Columbia City Council on Monday night will probably give final approval to shift a road by the airport.

Route H needs to move to the northeast, so there’s room to extend the main runway by 900 feet.

The road project will cost about $3.2 million, but the federal government will cover 90 percent of the cost. MoDot and the city of Columbia will each pay five percent, or about $160,000. Construction should start this summer.
