Ruffin reportedly will not run for re-election to Columbia council

Columbia will have at least one new city council member next year.

The Missourian reports Clyde Ruffin is not running for re-election when is latest term ends in 2020.

Ruffin is on his second, three-year term representing Ward 1. That ward includes downtown, where Ruffin is a church pastor.

Matt Pitzer’s Ward 5 seat will also be on the April 2020 ballot. City council candidates can start filing for spots on Tuesday.
