Saline County reports sixth COVID-19 death, Randolph County reports first

Another patient in Saline County has died from COVID-19.

Health officials confirmed the sixth death in the county Wednesday, the most of all counties in mid-Missouri. The county also reported three new coronavirus cases.

Randolph County reported its first COVID-19 death on Thursday. The patient had been hospitalized since July 6.

Boone County reported 26 more cases Wednesday, and leads mid-Missouri with 800 total cases.

Cole County added 11 more positives, Audrain County added six and Moniteau County added two.

Statewide, Missouri has seen the two largest jumps in coronavirus cases in the last two days. Health officials confirmed 888 new cases Wednesday, just shy of Tuesday’s record of 936. Another 10 Missourians have died from COVID-19, for a total of 1,103.
