The ninth annual Hope for Heroes 5K takes place Saturday morning in Columbia.
The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri hosts the event and proceeds will help fund the Food Bank’s efforts for veterans like the VIP veteran pack program. The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, which serves 32 counties, provides nutrition and supplies to 560 veterans facing food insecurity each month.
Check-in Saturday morning is set for 6:45 am at Cosmo park’s Nickell shelter, with the opening ceremony at 7:30. Registration is $35 per person and includes a shirt and race medal.
