Schmitt: proposed opioid settlement could bring $500 million for treatment services to Missouri

Missouri’s attorney general has signed term sheets for proposed opioid settlements with Johnson & Johnson and with three major distributors: AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson.

Attorney General Eric Schmitt describes the proposed settlement as historic, saying it could potentially bring in more than $500 million for opioid treatment and abatement in Missouri.

Schmitt says money will provide desperate funding for treatment and recovery programs, along with funding for law enforcement and drug courts.
